Division of Banking Supervision and Regulation

The Division of Banking Supervision and Regulation at times has unpaid summer internships available for college sophomores, juniors, or seniors who are majoring in finance, economics, or a related discipline.

The Federal Reserve Board, one of five federal banking regulators, is charged by the U.S. Congress with supervising and regulating bank holding companies, banks that are members of the Federal Reserve System, and foreign banking organizations that conduct banking business in the United States. These tasks are carried out by the Board through the Division of Banking Supervision and Regulation.

Financial analysts in the division review banking applications submitted for Board approval, monitor the condition of bank holding companies and state member banks, and develop corrective actions for any deficiencies found at supervised institutions. The analysts also help develop policy and practices.

Interns help support the operations of the division. College students are encouraged to apply for unpaid summer internships in the division and, if accepted, are expected to work from approximately June 1 to September 1.

To apply, please send a cover letter, résumé, three letters of recommendation, and an official transcript. In your cover letter, please identify your major field of study and specify that you are interested in an unpaid position. Recruiting will review the application, place it in a database, and contact the applicant if there is interest.

All applications must be received by March 31 of the year in which you wish to start.

Please send your application to the following address:
