   FRB Credit Union  

Full-service credit union, with membership open to all FRB employees for a one-time fee of $25. Members are entitled to a voice in the credit union's management, a share of the profits, and an opportunity to borrow money. The FRB Credit Union provides extensive financial services, including check cashing privileges, certificates of deposit, affordable loans, and travelers' checks.

   Law Library  

More than 26,000 law-related volumes, including treatises and monographs on all aspects of banking law, federal statutes, all legal decisions of the federal courts, regulations passed by executive agencies, and the state codes from all fifty states. Documents not available in the library can be obtained on microfilm or can be retrieved using the online services Lexis, Juris, and Westlaw.

Processing of incoming and outgoing U.S. Mail. Mailroom personnel will help employees post Board packages and letters.

   Notary Public  

Notary public services are available to all Board employees free of charge. The service is provided by the Management Division's Benefits Section.

   Open Market Store  

Newspapers, magazines, postage stamps, greeting cards, gift items, and snack foods are available for purchase. A film-developing service is also available at discount prices.

   Public Transportation Subsidy  

  • $115 per month reimbursement for using public transportation (including Board-sponsored vanpools) to commute to and from work
  • Employees must incur at least $110 in public transportation commuting expenses
  • Employees may not participate in the Board's parking or carpool program
  • Employees may not have parking passes for unusual working hours
  • Employees must complete a Public Transportation Application form and submit it to the Management Division's Travel & Transportation for reimbursement.

Note: All area transportation systems are covered by the policy.

   Research Library  

Provides reference assistance and research materials to Board staff members. Maintains a comprehensive, up-to-date collection of more than 55,000 volumes in such fields as finance, economics, monetary and fiscal policy, domestic and international banking, and the history and operation of the Federal Reserve System. Offers more than 2,000 periodicals and newspapers, databases of newspaper and periodical literature, online search capability, and CD-ROM collections.

   Reserve Board Club  

Sponsors many recreational activities and gatherings. Offers group buying service, through which members can purchase various items at substantial savings. Operates Open Market Store. The Reserve Board Club is open to all employees for a nominal annual membership fee.

   Workers Compensation Program  

Board employees' performance-of-duty injuries are covered under the Federal Employees Compensation Act (FECA). FECA provides for compensation benefits to civilian employees of the United States for disability resulting from personal injury or disease sustained while on duty. Injured employees are entitled to first-aid treatment, hospital care, and other services deemed appropriate for the injury sustained. All injuries sustained while on duty, whether major or minor, must be reported to a supervisor or to the Health Services Unit and to the Board's Safety Office. Compensation benefits may be denied if these parties do not have actual and timely knowledge of the injury.
