Provisional Employment

New employees are generally considered provisional employees during the first two years of employment. The provisional period allows on-the-job performance evaluation. Annual performance reviews determine how rapidly employees advance in salary and position.

Newly promoted and newly hired managers and supervisors are also placed on provisional status for one year. Performance as a supervisor or manager is evaluated to ensure that the individual is fully capable of handling such responsibilities.
