Internal Vacancies

The Board has a policy of filling vacant positions with internal applicants, whenever possible. The job posting program gives employees the opportunities to move into new job families, to explore and master new skills and areas of expertise, and to assume positions of greater responsibility as they progress in their careers.

Generally, employees must serve six months in their current positions before applying for a new position, and must have a performance (PMP) rating of "commendable" or better.

An employee may be selected for a promotion (that is, filling a vacant position with a new set of duties at a higher grade in a new career ladder) through this competitive process.

Vacancies are posted for a minimum of five days on a bulletin board on the Martin Building concourse, on the Management Division's Web page, and in a notebook in the Management Division's Recruiting Section.

To apply for a posted job, complete a posting application (available in the Management Division or on line) and submit it to the Recruiting Section during the posting period.

The recruiter responsible for filling the job will interview the applicant to determine eligibility. The hiring manager (or designated staff member) will interview candidates who meet required minimum qualifications.
