Workers Compensation Program
Board employees' performance-of-duty injuries
are covered under the Federal Employees Compensation Act (FECA).
FECA provides for compensation benefits to civilian employees of
the United States for disability resulting from personal injury
or disease sustained while on duty. Injured employees are entitled
to first-aid treatment, hospital care, and other services deemed
appropriate for the injury sustained.
All injuries sustained while on duty, whether major
or minor, must be reported to a supervisor or to the Health Services
Unit and to the Board's Safety Office. Compensation benefits may be denied if these parties do not have
actual and timely knowledge of the injury.
