Each section provides a general description of the filing, the publication requirements, the form to be submitted, the processing time frame, and the relevant statutory factors associated with that type of proposal. The Federal Reserve may, as appropriate, request additional information following the submission of an application or notice to further clarify a proposal. The time frames represent the normal processing period; the processing period may be extended in certain cases. Prior to submitting an application or notice, banking organizations are encouraged to contact the Applications Department of the appropriate Federal Reserve Bank to discuss their proposal.
