Office of Inspector General
Savings Bonds
The OIG often receives questions from individuals regarding U.S. savings bonds. While Federal Reserve Banks across the country provide services for individuals seeking to purchase U.S. savings bonds, this program is not administered by the Federal Reserve. The Bureau of Public Debt, an agency of the Department of the Treasury, oversees and administers the savings bond program. Their web site provides consumer information on savings bond issues.
