   Reporting banks include all types of depository institutions as well as banks/financial holding companies and brokers and dealers. Effective February 2003, coverage is expanded to include claims of brokers and dealers on affiliated foreign offices and cross-border balances. dealers.

For agencies, branches, and minority-owned subsidiaries of foreign banks, consists principally of amounts due from the head office or parent foreign bank, and from foreign branches, agencies, or wholly owned subsidiaries of the head office or parent foreign bank. Effective February 2003, includes amounts due from affiliated foreign offices of U.S. brokers and dealers.   Return to table
