Monetary and Financial Market Analysis

The Monetary and Financial Market Analysis section analyzes macroeconomic and financial issues pertaining to the formulation, implementation, and transmission of monetary policy. Key areas of specialization include the term structure of interest rates, futures and options on Treasury and money market instruments, over-the-counter derivatives, and the federal funds market. Section economists analyze financial and economic developments for the Board and the FOMC and engage in a broad range of longer-term research projects.
