Monetary and Reserve Analysis

The Monetary and Reserve Analysis section is responsible for modeling money demand, analyzing issues related to the behavior of the money and reserve aggregates, and making projections of these aggregates and deposit rates. The section prepares daily forecasts of the factors affecting the supply of reserves to the banking system, which are used in determining open market operations. The section's research areas include money and the macroeconomy and reserve markets. The section also deals with issues related to reserve requirements.
