Fiscal Analysis

The Fiscal Analysis section analyzes and forecasts developments in the federal, state, and local government sectors and assesses the economic consequences of tax and spending policies for the macro economy and for economic efficiency. The section's research covers such things as the macroeconomic implications of alternative taxation and spending measures, alternative budget control mechanisms, and alternative proposals for the reform of social security and Medicare.
