Obligations of institutions such as business corporations, foreign government units, Asian Development Bank, International Bank of Reconstruction and Development (WORLD Bank), and Inter-American Development Bank are included. Also holdings of stock acquired for debts previously contracted, marketable equity securities, foreign stock (and other types of equity ownership held for investment purposes), paid in stock of the Federal Reserve Bank, mortgage-backed securities issued by depositary institutions, and equipment. Does not contain on its face a statement that it is not transferable.
Holdings of commercial paper and bankers acceptances are included in "Loans, Total (Excluding Unearned Income) (2122)" and certificates of deposit are included in "Cash and Due from Depositary Institutions, Total (0010)" for Report of Assets and Liabilities of U.S. Branches and Agencies of Foreign Banks (IBA Call).
