Data Description:

Includes the outstanding investment in Federal Funds.

Also, includes:

1. The balance of excess of Federal Funds invested;

2. Securities purchased under agreements to resell that do not meet the criteria for a sale under FASB Statement No. 140, including dollar repurchase and fixed-coupon agreements. See item no. 2023.

Exclude Term Federal Funds. Treat as a commercial loan not as federal funds sold any lending of immediately available funds where the loan has an original maturity of more than one business day, other than securities purchased under agreements to resell. Such transactions are sometimes referred to as Term Fed Funds.
