Data Description:

Includes the recorded investment in purchasing the rights to service loans owned by others. The amortization of purchased loan servicing is deducted from fee income reported for mortgage servicing in item 0487 or 0488 for nonmortgage servicing.

The outstanding balance must be determined and amortized in accordance with GAAP. All write-downs must directly reduce this balance and cannot be reported as a valuation allowance in item 0873.

Excludes loan servicing; reported in item 3685.
