Data Description:

The total of loan commitments for mortgages unused (1413) and used (1412). Commitments are official promises to lend that are expressly conveyed, orally or in writing, to the customer.

Excludes authorizations (internal guidance lines) where the customer is not informed of the amount. Also, excludes cases such as those when loan funds are temporarily unavailable pending loan committee approval.

Mortgage loans are those specified in "Real Estate Loans (1410)". Includes all loans secured primarily by mortgages, deeds of trust, land contracts, or other liens on real estate. Excludes loans to finance construction in process if not secured by a mortgage or other lien on real estate.
