Data Description:
Includes all fixed-rate balloon payment mortgages with a single rate adjustment (e.g., those that would qualify for the FNMA "Two-Step Mortgage" program), and adjustable-rate mortgages that reset less often than every 5 years. Report also participations in such mortgages and securities backed by such mortgages. (For purposes of these instructions, balloon payment mortgages are defined as mortgages with a remaining maturity that is at least 10 years shorter than the remaining time to full amortization. For example, a mortgage that matures in 4 years and would require 14 years to amortize fully is considered a balloon mortgage.) Also includes the outstanding principal coupon balances of such mortgage loans and participation less than 5 percent.
NOTE:
Beginning 3/31/03, due to falling interest rates, the coupon rate has been lowered by 2 percent.
