Data Description:
The non-ABA standard identifier in the format of the current DSBB (District/State/Bank/Branch) number. This is a 12-digit number that is assigned to identify a given entity. It is composed of the eight-digit entity identifier and the four-digit branch number (FR Board assigned). For the head offices the last four digits are zeroes.
Note: DSBBs will continue to be assigned by the Board to all entities on the Board's Bank/Branch Structure (BBS) database until such time that all Board files have been converted to RSSD structure items. This conversion is expected to take 2 to 3 years. Until the conversion is complete, Reserve Banks will enter ID_DSBB_TYPE for all head office level entities that are on BBS. Note that U.S. branches of foreign banks are carried at the head office level on BBS. ID_DSBB_TYPE will not be required for branch level entities after the completion of the RSSD-to-BBS bridge, provided that the Reserve Bank has completed branch cleanup. Board staff will notify Reserve Banks when they may discontinue entering ID_DSBB_TYPE for their branches.
