1 = Conducted inside U.S. (excludes U.S. territories and possessions for entities with Broad Regulatory Code equal to other than 1 and includes U.S. territories and possessions for entities with Broad Regulatory Code equal to 1.)
2 = Conducted outside U.S. (includes U.S. territories and possessions for entities with Broad Regulatory Code equal to other than 1 and excludes U.S. territories and possessions for entities with Broad Regulatory Code equal to 1.)
3 = Conducted both inside and outside the U.S.
4 = U.S. presence exists but is not specifically known. This code indicates that the entity identified by the RSSD ID in this record is a noncontrolled entity (excluding FBOs which are noncontrolled) not physically located in the U.S. but having a U.S. presence, either through an office of its own or through a controlled offspring (subsidiary) that conducts an activity in the U.S. However, the exact nature of such U.S. presence is not specifically known.
