MTBL STRATUM INFORMATION All member banks and state insured nonmember par banks (charter class less than 22) were ranked in descending order by commercial and industrial loans as of June 30, 1974. The top forty-eight banks in this list were selected with certainty and comprise stratum 1. The remaining banks were divided into five strata (2 through 6). The banks in the last two strata were resorted by a farm loan ranking before being separated into strata 5 and 6. Strata values are as follows: 1 = $450m and Over C&I Loans 2 = $140m - $449m C&I Loans 3 = $54m - $139m C&I Loans 4 = $18m - $53m C&I Loans 5 = Over $2,442th Farm Loans 6 = Under $2,442th Farm Loans QTBL STRATUM INFORMATION QTBL Stratum are generated dynamically each quarter. Stratum 1 contains the forty-eight largest reporters (by C&I loans.) Stratum 2 has the next sixty largest reporters. The remaining reporters are split equally (by number) into strata 3 through 6. Universe cutoffs are then set by the C&I loans of the smallest reporter in each stratum. Stratum 7 contains foreign banks.
