In November 2008, the Federal Reserve Board authorized the New York
Reserve Bank under section 13(3) of the Federal Reserve Act to provide financing to Maiden Lane II LLC (ML II) to facilitate the acquisition of certain assets of American International Group, Inc. This loan is reported at fair value in the consolidated financial statements of the New York Reserve Bank.
