Data Description:
As of 12/31/2020, for purposes of the FR Y-12, report all other unrealized holding gains (losses) on equity securities of the direct and indirect nonfinancial equity investments (including nonfinancial equity investments held under Merchant Banking Authority)of subsidiaries of the holding company that are registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) as a broker-dealer. Exclude any nonfinancial equity investment held in a trading account in accordance with applicable accounting principles and as part of an underwriting, market making or dealing activity. Also, exclude nonfinancial equity investments of broker-dealers that are controlled by the holding company through a depository institution.
