Note: The income, asset, and liability data used to make these charts are the public versions of those used in this article, and were created using this program. The article and program also contain variable definitions. For more information on how the asset, debt, and net worth variables are related, please consult this flowchart. For each variable and classification group, the charts show the percent of families in the group who have the item, and the median and mean amounts of holdings for those who have any. Two exceptions to this are that all households are included in the net worth and income measures. Users should be aware that unlike the tables published in the Bulletin article, the charts include estimates for cells with fewer than eleven observations, a sample size deemed insufficient for robust estimates (see tables to identify which variables and groups are affected). All dollar estimates are given in 2022 dollars.
On September 28, 2020 the drop down for "Distributed by" was updated from "head" to "reference person" to be consistent with SCF tables and bulletin article.
On October 18, 2023, the data visualizations were updated to correct a data labelling issue.
On November 2, 2023, the data visualizations were updated to correct a display issue with percent holdings.
