The Federal Reserve Board on Tuesday announced its approval of the proposal filed by SunTrust Banks, Inc., Atlanta, Georgia, and SunTrust Bank Holding Company, Orlando, Florida, to acquire by merger National Commerce Financial Corporation, including its subsidiary depository institutions, National Bank of Commerce, NBC Bank, FSB, and First Market Bank, FSB, all in Memphis, Tennessee.
