The Federal Reserve Board on Tuesday announced its approval of the proposal filed by The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc., Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to acquire Riggs National Corporation, Washington, D.C., and its subsidiary bank, Riggs Bank National Association, McLean, Virginia.
