SUBJECT:  Interagency Advisory on the Confidentiality of Nonpublic Supervisory Information

The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and Office of Thrift Supervision have issued the attached Interagency Advisory on the Confidentiality of the Supervisory Rating and Other Nonpublic Supervisory Information. This interagency advisory reminds banking organizations of the statutory prohibitions on the disclosure of supervisory ratings and other confidential supervisory information to third parties without the prior written approval of the appropriate federal banking agency.

Reserve Banks are asked to distribute this SR letter and the attached interagency advisory to state member banks, bank holding companies, Edge corporations, and foreign banking organizations supervised by the Federal Reserve.
