Use of the Anderson-Moore Algorithm requires translation of a system of equations into a coefficient matrix - the "H-matrix" - as described in Anderson and Moore (1983,1985). Because it is often easier to work with and think about models as systems of equations, rather than matrices, model preprocessors have been developed that take files containing models in MDLEZ syntax and convert them to corresponding C, Mathematica, or Matlab files. These files contain information about the model, including its matrix form, to be used in the algorithm.
