Federal Reserve Board announces approval of applications by M&T Bank Corporation

The Federal Reserve Board on Wednesday announced its approval of the applications by M&T Bank Corporation ("M&T"), Buffalo, New York, to acquire Hudson City Bancorp, Inc., Paramus, New Jersey; and by M&T's subsidiary bank, Manufacturers and Traders Trust Company, Buffalo, to merge with Hudson City Savings Bank, Paramus, and retain and operate branches at the locations of Hudson City Savings Bank's main office and branches.
