Donald L. Kohn on Friday took the oath of office for a four-year term as Vice Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. The oath was administered in the Board Room by Chairman Ben S. Bernanke. Vice Chairman Kohnís wife, Gail Kohn, and his mother, children and grandchildren were present.
President Bush announced his intention to nominate Governor Kohn as Vice Chairman on May 18, and the Senate confirmed him on June 19. He originally took office on August 5, 2002, as a member of the Board for a term that expires January 31, 2016.
