Dear Colleague:
On behalf of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, I want to welcome you to today's conference, Small Business and Entrepreneurship during an Economic Recovery.
We hope that this event will provide you with new perspectives on small business issues, including the financing needs of creditworthy small businesses and entrepreneurs, and the role these firms are playing in creating jobs during the current economic environment. We will also discuss the unique challenges faced by women- and minority-owned firms.
We have gathered a number of recognized experts across a range of disciplines to share their thinking on areas where additional research or data collection may be useful; to identify promising practices observed in the field; and, to make policy recommendations that will address challenges facing the small business community.
The issues you discuss today and tomorrow are critical not only to our nation's small firms and entrepreneurs, but also to our economy as a whole. Thank you for joining us, and we look forward to engaging with you in these discussions.
Sincerely,
Sandra Braunstein
Director, Division of Consumer and Community Affairs
Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System
