On April 14-15, the Federal Reserve Board will host a convening on the importance of rural communities and the role of community development work, specifically investment, in supporting rural economies. The event will explore the landscape of rural economies and models for strengthening the flow of capital to rural communities.
The forum is held in partnership with the Federal Reserve Banks of Boston, Cleveland, Kansas City, Philadelphia, Richmond, and St. Louis.
This event is by invitation only. The convening will begin with opening remarks (12:45 p.m.–1:00 p.m.) by Federal Reserve Governor Michael Barr. Following his remarks, Governor Barr will moderate a fireside chat (1:00 p.m.–2:00 p.m.) with Federal Reserve Bank presidents Tom Barkin, Susan Collins and Anna Paulson. Both segments will be livestreamed for the public at www.federalreserve.gov and www.youtube.com/federalreserve.
