Data Description:
Includes the amount of recourse liability (low level recourse amount) retained by a saving association when it is less than the capital requirement for credit-risk exposure and therefore not converted to an on-balance-sheet equivalent (e.g., in the sale of most assets with 1% recourse, the amount of liability retained usually is less than the capital requirement, and therefore 1% of the assets sold would be reported in item no. 2225 or 2226.
Also, includes the amount of on-balance-sheet financial instruments reported pursuant to SFAS No. 125 representing subordinated credit risk interests, including interests in spread accounts and asset pools. (However, a savings association's low level recourse requirement may exceed the amount of this instrument ifthe savings association is subject to credit losses exceeding the amount of theinstrument).
