Data Description:
The amount of interest income received or accrued during the reporting period on balances carried with domestic and foreign banks and other depository institutions in the United States. Also includes premiums received or discounts paid on foreign exchange contracts related to financial swap transactions involving interest bearing balances due from depository institutions. Such gains or losses are known at the inception of the contract and should be amortized over the life of the contract.

COMPARABILITY:
Beginning 3/31/01, for series "BHCK" report all income on assets reportable in Schedule HC, item 1(b), "Interest-bearing balances due from depository insitutions."
Beginning 3/31/01, became a reported item on the FFIEC 031 and 041 reports and includes all income on assets reportable in Schedule RC, item 1.b, (0071) "Interest-bearing balances due from depository institutions." Reported on Schedule SI-Income Statement for both reports.
Beginning 3/31/84, reported as a derived item for the FFIEC 031 report which includes the sum of items 4105 and 4106.
Prior to 3/31/84, shown as a separate item, and item name was "Interest on Balances With Depository Institutions".
Prior to 12/31/78, the title was "Interest on Balances With Banks" and interest on balances with savings & loan and mutual savings institutions was reported in "Other Operating Income (4100)".
