Data Description:

All other losses and charge-offs (except losses charged against valuation reserves). Includes extraordinary or nonrecurring write-downs on banking house, "other real estate", and furniture and fixtures, and additions to depreciation reserves for the same purposes; losses on counterfeit money and forged checks, net cash shortages charged off; miscellaneous losses resulting from lawsuits; bank's own contribution to its retirement or pension fund covering service for past periods; etc. Payments or accruals of reserves for federal deposit insurance assessments and other expenses are not treated as charge-offs, but are reported as current operating expenses.
