Data Description:
Includes the following obligations of domestic depository institutions: demand deposits and other transaction actions, saving deposits, time certificates, travelers' checks and other cash equivalents, cash items in the process of collections, federal funds sold, loans and overdrafts, debt securities, and the credit equivalent amount of interest and exchange rate contracts (e.g., interest-rate swaps and caps) where the counter party is a domestic depository institution.
Excludes investments in other depository institutions that can be counted by those institutions in their regulatory capital (e.g., capital stock, qualifying subordinated debt, etc.); reported in item 5313; and interest rate contracts with a FHLBank or a Federal Reserve Bank; reported in item 5323 and 5326, respectively.
