Data Description:
Includes the aggregate amount of allowance for credit losses. The sum of items 3124, 2419, 4230, and 4815 minus 4635. The amount reported in this item must equal Schedule RC, item 4.b, 3123, "Allowance for loan and lease losses," plus any portions of the allowance for credit losses related to off-balance sheet credit exposures. Banks are encouraged to disclose the amounts of these other portions of the allowance for credit losses in Schedule RI-E, item 9, "Other explanations."
COMPARABILITY:
Beginning 3/31/1998, reported in Schedule RI-B, Part II for the FFIEC 031, 032, 033, and 034 reports and title was changed to "Changes in Allowance for Credit Losses."
