Data Description:

Report the acquisition cost of the direct and indirect nonfinancial equity investments of subsidiaries of the BHC that are registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission as a broker or dealer. Exclude any nonfinancial equity investment held in a trading account in accordance with applicable accounting principles and as part of an underwriting, market making or dealing activity. Also, exclude nonfinancial equity investments of broker dealers that are controlled by the BHC through a depository institution.
