Data Description:
Includes loans to domestic establishments engaged in manufacturing machinery and equipment (other than transportation equipment); manufacturing machinery, apparatus, and supplies for generation, storage, transmission, transformation, and utilization of electrical energy. Loans to domestic manufacturers of machines powered by built in or detachable motors are included here. Loans to domestic manufacturers of household appliances, portable tools, both electric and pneumatic powered, are included here, but loans to hand tool manufacturers are included in "Other Fabricated Metal Products (1626)." Also included are loans to domestic establishments engaged in manufacturing mechanical measuring, engineering, laboratory, and scientific instruments, optical instruments and lenses; surgical, medical, and dental instruments, equipment, and supplies; ophthalmic goods, photographic equipment and supplies; watches and clocks, and surveying and drafting instruments. COMPARABILITY: Prior to 12/5/67, includes foreign commercial and industrial loans.
