Data Description:
The stated interest rate per annum (nominal rate before compounding of interest) on "NOW Accounts (2398)" issued or renewed during the 7 days ending on the survey date. If more than one rate was paid during this period, the rate paid on the largest dollar volume of deposits issued or renewed during the week is reported. If a bank has outstanding deposits for a specific instrument, but stopped offering such instrument prior to the beginning of the reporting period, then "no longer offered" is written in the column provided for the rate. If a bank is offering an instrument but no deposits were issued or renewed during the reporting period, the interest rate that the bank was offering is reported. The interest rates are reported to the nearest one hundredth of a percentage point.
