Calculated as the difference between assets reported by the Thrift Savings Plan G fund, which consists entirely of nonmarketable short-term Treasury securities, and the quarter ending Monthly Statement of the Public Debt, Table III - Detail of Treasury Securities Outstanding: Thrift Savings Fund, Federal Retirement Thrift Investment Board amount outstanding. Only quarters with a difference of 5 billion dollars or more are reported. Non-zero values represent periods where the Treasury used extraordinary measures to manage its cash and borrowing when the statutory debt limit had been reached. These measures included temporarily suspending daily reinvestment in the Thrift Savings Plan G fund. Quarterly TSP data unpublished, annual TSP data can be found online at www.tsp.gov. Data for the most recent ten years show no significant seasonality.
