Data Description:
Includes domestic term loans to general contractors primarily engaged in construction of residential, farm, industrial, commercial, public, or other buildings; to general contractors engaged in heavy construction, such as highways and streets, bridges, sewers, railroads; irrigation projects, flood control projects, and marine construction; and miscellaneous types of construction work other than building. Includes domestic term loans to contractors who undertake specialized activities such as plumbing, painting, plastering, carpentering, etc. and who are primarily engaged in work related to building construction rather than heavy or engineering construction. Also included are term loans to domestic establishments primarily engaged in miscellaneous specialized construction activities such as industrial machinery and equipment installation, grave excavation, gas leakage detection, and water well drilling. Includes domestic term loans to builders primarily engaged in construction for sale of their own account rather than as contractors. Excludes loans with an original maturity of one year or less.
