Data Description:
Includes savings deposits of partnerships, corporations, and other associations organized for profit (other than domestic and foreign commercial banks). Savings deposit of building and savings and loan associations, credit unions, mutual savings banks, mutual funds, and all other similar organizations are included. Also includes savings deposits of the Export-Import Bank and federally-sponsored lending agencies such as Federal Land Banks, Federal Intermediate Credit Banks, Federal Home Loan Banks, Banks for Cooperatives, the Environmental Financing Authority, the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, the Federal National Mortgage Association, and the Student Loan Mortgage Association. Savings deposits of organizations such as post exchanges on military posts and deposits of company, battery, or similar organizations are included unless the reporting bank has been designated by the treasury as a depository for such funds and appropriate security for the deposits has been pledged. In such case, those deposits are classified as "Deposits of Domestic Governmental Units (6695)". Also included in "Debits to Total Savings Deposit Accounts (2393)". Savings deposit of trust funds standing to the credit of other banks and deposits of all trust funds held or deposited in any department of the reporting bank (except those held in the trust department) are included if the ultimate beneficiary of the trust is a partnership, corporations, or other association organized for profit. Includes savings deposits standing to the credit of such partnerships and organizations as described above to the extent that such deposits do not exceed $150,000 per such depositor. Does not include individuals and nonprofit organizations (including proprietorships); United States Government; states and political subdivisions; and international organizations. Excludes savings deposits of Edge Act and Agreement Corporations that are engaged in a commercial banking business. These are included in "All Other Savings Deposits (6715)".
