Data Description:

The five-digit code assigned to the principle holding company or the highest holding company in a tiered organization. Source: Holding Company File.

For the RSSD Structure Data Dictionary Board/RSSD Derived Items Table includes:

For a base entity with CHTR_TYPE_CD = 200, 250, 300, 310, 320, 340, 350, 360, 400, 410, 420, 430, or 500 and

CNTRY_CD = 1007, 1031, 1058, 1074, 1104, 1139, 1155, 60305, 61204, or 62502 these fields contains the

entity's high holder ID_RSSD, ID_BHC_TYPE, and in some cases the PCT_EQUITY.

For each relationship in an upward tier, the following checks are made:

Relationships Table RELN_LVL = 1, EQUITY_IND = 1, CTRL_IND = 1, REG_IND = 1

If none of the relationships meets the above requirements, then these item is set to zero.

Using the highest level relationship that meets the above requirements, the following checks are made:

Attributes Table BHC_IND = 1 or FBO_4C9_IND = 1, 2, or 3.

If the regulatory direct holder is also the regulatory high holder, then the direct holder values, including

PCT_EQUITY, will also appear in these high holder fields. Therefore, if no percentage is shown for the high

holder, a tiered relationship can be assumed to exist.

The values for these fields (items 9347, 9348, 9349, 9351, 9352, 9354, 9355, 9356, 9357, 9358, 9359, and 9363)

are determined as follows:

1. To determine REG_HH_1_ID and REG_HH_1_BHC:

a. If the subject entity has no REG_DH_1_ID, check (using the Relationships Table checks, above,   followed by the Attributes Table checks, above) to see if there are any relationships above the subject   entity. If not, then these items will be set to zero. If there are, find the highest relationship that meets the   requirements and place that entity's IDs into the REG_HH_1_ID and REG_HH_1_BHC fields. No   value will be placed into REG_HH_1_PCT. No further checks are required.

b. If the subject entity has a REG_DH_1_ID, then start with the REG_DH_1_ID and tier up. If there is no   higher relationship that meets the above requirements, then REG_DH_1_ID will also be   REG_HH_1_ID and the values from REG_DH_1_ID, REG_DH_1_PCT, and REG_DH_1_BHC   will be inserted into the corresponding high holder fields. Go to step 2.

c. If there is one higher relationship that meets the requirements, then that entity's IDs will be placed   in REG_HH_1_ID and REG_HH_1_BHC. No value will be placed in REG_HH_1_PCT. Go to step   2.

2. To determine the next REG_HH_n_ID and REG_HH_n_BHC (These will not necessarily be REG_HH_2_ID and REG_HH_2_BHC.):

b. If there is one higher relationship that meets the requirements, then that entity's IDs will be placed in   the next remaining REG_HH_n_ID and REG_HH_n_BHC. No value will be placed in   REG_HH_n_PCT. If less than four REG_HH fields have been filled in, go to step 3; otherwise, this   task is complete.

3. Use REG_DH_3_ID as a starting point and continue the procedures in step 2. If all of the REG_HH fields have not been filled in, the fourth step would be similar using REG_DH_4_ID as the starting point.

d. If there are more than one higher relationships that meet the requirements, then those entities' IDs will   be placed in REG_HH_n_ID and REG_HH_n_BHC until all four REG_HH_n_ID and   REG_HH_n_BHC fields are filled or there are no other higher relationships. If there are less than four   such higher relationships, go to step 2. If there are four or more higher relationships, this task is   complete.
a. Tier up from REG_DH_2_ID. If there is no higher relationship that meets the above requirements,   then REG_DH_2_ID will also be placed in the next remaining REG_HH-n_ID and the values from   REG_DH_2_ID, REG_DH_2_PCT, and REG_DH_2_BHC will be inserted into the high holder   fields. If less than four REG_HH fields have been filled in, go to step 3; otherwise, this task is   complete.
c. If there are more than one higher relationships that meet the requirements, then those entities' IDs will   be placed in REG_HH_n_ID and REG_HH_n_BHC until all four REG_HH_n_ID and   REG_HH_n_BHC fields are filled or there are no other higher relationships for REG_DH_2_ID. If   there are less than four such higher relationships, go to step 3. If there are four or more higher   relationships, this task is complete.
