Data Description:

In connection with the November 1972 amendments to Regulation D, the Board determined that member banks that would be adversely affected to a substantial degree by adoption of these proposals should be permitted a reasonable time to adjust to the effects of the new regulations. The Reserve Banks waived penalties for such banks and the amount of the portion of the waiver used is shown here. For more details, see Federal Reserve "Bulletin", July 1972, pages 649-653.
