Data Description:
Includes the total book value of all pledged of unpledged investment securities, including any applicable premium or discount that is carried separately on the books, of the following types:
(1) The total amount of all securities (including mortgage-backed pass-through securities) securing borrowings under a repurchase of dollar repurchase, fixed coupon agreement;
(2) Time deposits (certificates of deposit) and interest earning demand deposits in banks (including Federal Home Loan Banks) and other depository institutions, including those held subject to repurchase agreement;
(3) Loans of unsecured day(s) funds (federal funds, etc.) except to institutions under the control or in the possession of any supervisory authority that are to be reported as other assets in item 0037;
(4) "Ground rents";
(5) Shares of an investment company that restricts its investment as provided in Reg.545.76;
(6) Investments in commercial paper and corporate debt securities;
(7) Collateralized Mortgage Obligations (CMOs) whether or not guaranteed by a federal government agency;
(8) Non-pass-through mortgage obligations issued by REMICs; and
(9) Promissory notes issued by the FSLIC.
Does not include:
(1) Notes (loans) insured by the Farmers Home Administration, which are to be reported in the appropriate mortgage or nonmortgage loan category;
(2) Mortgage-backed pass-through securities, which are reported in item 1454 (Mortgage-Backed Pass-Through Securities);
(3) U. S. Government and agency securities reported in item 0627 (U.S. Government And Agency Securities);
(4) Common and preferred stock reported in item 0621 (equity securities, except FHLB FHLMC);
(5) Stock in a Federal Home Loan Bank and in the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation reported in item 0037 (Other Assets);
(6) Stock in a service corporation subsidiary reported in item 0035 (Equity Investment In Service Corporations/Subsidiaries); and
(7) Deposits or other investments in a bank or saving institution under control of a supervisory authority, these deposits or investments should be reported in item 0037 (Other Assets).
