Data Description:
Includes the principal balance of all mortgage loans and participations for all other real estate purchased from others during the month and reported in items 0133, 0136, and 1534. Excludes transfers from an affiliate or other entity where the loans were closed in the name of the reporting thrift; report as mortgage loans closed when originated; or acquisitions of mortgage-backed securities reported in items 3983 and 3984.
COMPARABILITY:
Beginning 9/30/1999, includes loans that are originated and immediately securitized or sold to be reported as mortgage loans disbursed and mortgages sold. If the securities are retained by the reporting association, the transaction should be reported as an acquisition of mortgage securities.
