COMPARABILITY: Beginning in 1994, for the FR 2644 (WRSS) report, includes U.S. Treasury and Government agency securities held in trading accounts (corresponds to Call report items 3531 and 3532). Beginning 1/4/84, for the FR 2644 series (WRSS) and the FR 2069 series (WABM, WALB), includes government agency securities. Includes the appropriate value of all U.S. Treasury securities not held in trading accounts. Also includes all bills, certificates of indebtedness, notes, and bonds, including those issued under the Separate Trading of Registered Interest and Principal of Securities (STRIPS) program. Excludes all obligations of U.S. Government Agencies and Corporations. Also excludes detached Treasury security coupons and ex-coupon Treasury securities held as the result of either their purchase or the branch or agency's stripping of such securities and Treasury receipts such as CATS, TIGRs, and COUGARs, LIONs, and ETRs (included in item 0373). Prior to 6/30/69: (1) Includes D.C. stadium bonds, certain merchant marine issues, and debentures issued by FHA. These were transferred to "Obligations of Other U.S. Government Agencies and Corporations"; (2) Reported net of valuation reserves; (3) Item name was "U.S. Government Obligations." NOTE: For the FFIEC 002 report, excludes all claims on related depository institutions but includes claims on related nondepository institutions.
