Data Description:
Includes the dollar amount of: (1) Security resale agreements that mature in more than one business day, other than securities purchased under resale (reverse repurchase) agreements to maturity, (report resale agreements to maturity as a purchase of the underlying security); and (2) Purchases of participations in pools of securities that mature in more than one business day. Reported are securities purchased under agreements to resell on a gross basis; (i.e., such transactions are not netted against securities sold under agreements to repurchase). (See comparability below.)
Excludes: (1) Securities purchased under agreements to resell that involves the receipt of immediately available funds and mature in one business day or roll over under a continuing contract (reported in item 0276); (2) Resale agreements that mature in more than one business day involving assets other than securities (reported in item 2122); (3) So-called yield maintenance dollar repurchase agreements; and (4) On the FFIEC 031, securities purchased under agreements to resell in foreign offices of the reporting bank and in foreign offices of the bank's Edge and Agreement subsidiaries (reported in item 2122).
For the FR Y-9LP (BHCP) report, excludes securities purchased from direct or indirect subsidiaries of the parent bank holding company under agreements to resell (reported in item BHCP0365). When the subsidiary bank holding company in a multi-tier organization is submitting this report, its transactions with its parent(s) or with subsidiaries of its parent(s) is excluded from this item and reported in "Balances Due from Subsidiaries and Related Institutions, Other Than Investments and Receivables" on Schedule PC, item 9.
COMPARABILITY:
Beginning 12/31/94, for the FR Y-9C (BHCK) report, securities purchased under agreements to resell may be netted against securities sold under agreements to repurchase to the extent allowable under generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
