Data Description:
Includes participation certificates issued by Federal National Mortgage Association (or other federal agencies) representing participations in pools of loans made by government agencies as well as participations in pools of V.A. and F.H.A. loans. Includes participation in pools of loans issued by Export-Import Bank or loans made by commercial banks that the bank guarantees. Also includes "blocks" or pools of Farmers Home Administration insured notes, and securities purchased representing pooled mortgages guaranteed by Government National Mortgage Association of the "pass-through" type. COMPARABILITY: Prior to 6/30/71, Excludes Farmers Home Administration insured notes which were included in farm and residential real estate loans. Prior to 7/6/66, Not shown separately. Most participation certificates were classified as loans, chiefly Export-Import Bank portfolio fund and CCC participations. A small part was included in "Other Bonds, Corporate Stocks, and Securities (0370)".
