Data Description:
Includes the net amount of unamortized premiums and discounts on mortgage pool securities reported in items 3598 and 3599. Report this line as negative (i.e., a debit) only when unamortized premiums and deferred direct costs exceed unamortized discounts and deferred loan fees.
Yield adjustments are amortized on item 2733 in accordance with FAS No. 91. Also includes unamortized premiums and discounts on mortgage pool securities purchased at other than face value due to changes in market interest rate, all loan and commitment fees and deferred costs for mortgage pool securities, and transfer of lower-of-cost-or-market valuation allowances on mortgage pool securities now held for investment that were previously classified as securities held for sale. These securities are not marked up to cost at reclassification, the difference between cost and market at date of transfer is treated as a discount and is amortized on item 2733 in accordance with FAS No. 91.
Excludes discount and premiums relating to mortgage pool securities held in a trading portfolio, directly adjust the asset balance.
