Includes the sum of items 0462, 0465, and 1581 minus 0466. This item is reported monthly and quarterly.

Also includes:

1. Real estate acquired and held for investment purposes;

2. Real estate loans that are accounted for as investments in real estate in accordance with GAAP;

3. Real estate formerly occupied by the reporting savings association, unless it is held-for-sale, in which case it is reported in item no. 0618;

4. Real estate acquired through foreclosure that no longer qualifies as "repossessed real estate" because of the length of time it has been held or the purpose for which it is being held; and

5. Capitalized carrying costs of real estate in the process of construction in accordance with SFAS No. 34, 'Capitalization of Interest Cost."

Do not include:

1. Office buildings and land that the saviangs association owns and uses in its business operations; report in item no. 0618;

2. Real estate acquired as part of a troubled debt restructing; reported in items 4856, 0457, 0458, 4859, and 4860;

3. Real estate acquired indirectly through an entity designated as a pass-through investment as described in OTS Regulation 560.32; report the pass-through investment in item no. 6770;

4. The share of investments owned in real estate joint ventures qualifying as unconsolidated subordinate organizations; reported in item no. 6770; and

5. Real esate originally acquired for future use of the savings association but no longer intended for that purpose; report as REO in items 4856, 0457, 0458, 4859, and 4860.
